Dr. Chua meets PM over appeal cases for PSD scholarship

KUALA LUMPUR, May 27 (Bernama) — MCA President Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek today met Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak over appeal cases for Public Service Department (PSD) scholarships.

“I have handed over a report to the Prime Minister on the PSD scholarship appeal cases compiled by MCA.

“MCA has received a total of 1,086 appeals. After going through them, only 364 cases require attention from PSD,” he said in a statement today.

He said that 59 appeals with straight A+ in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) should be offered scholarships for degree courses overseas.

“A total of 82 cases with 9A+ in core subjects, which were originally offered scholarships for diploma courses, should also be offered overseas scholarships or at least a local degree scholarship based on the applicant’s first choice,” he said. — BERNAMA

JAMESJG.com hope the appeal includes our deserving Chinese students from Sarawak and Sabah.

Deputy Education Minister respond via Twitter:

Of course, regardless of region & race! RT @jamesguang: @weekasiongmp, does the PSD appeal includes deserving students from Sarawak?
