Anxiously waiting for Windows7 Beta

Updated today
Hmmm… its 10th January 2009 in Malaysia, and I have yet to see the link to the beta download. Not even in Microsoft Download Center.

Later.. A note from Microsoft

Thanks for your interest in the Windows 7 Beta. The volume has been phenomenal—we’re in the process of adding more servers to handle the demand. We’re sorry for the delay and we’ll re-post the Beta as soon as we can ensure a quality download experience.

Even Microsoft faces a server overload!

Posted on 9th January 2009
A quick check on Microsoft website for the link to this beta download, it says, “Want to try the Beta? Come back the afternoon of January 9. And remember—this is just a preview. There’s more to come.” Argghh!

Look at what Microsoft said about the new Windows.

Faster, more responsive performance
Nobody likes to wait. So we’ve focused on the basics that can impact the speed of your PC. Windows 7 starts up, shuts down, resumes from standby, and responds faster. You’ll have fewer interruptions and can recover more quickly from problems when they do occur because Windows 7 will help you fix them when you want.

Meanwhile, over at back office, I am busy backing-up my files before I delete the whole forum by 12th January.

The calls and SMSes keep on coming in since yesterday when most of the members knew of my intention to shut down the forum. Yes, people.. it is indeed a sad thing for me to do, but that is the best option for now, to put the issue to rest. And, furthermore, it is a way for me to show that I am responsible for all of you, and when I come back, it will be an entire new ball game..

I will be back with in a better, more organised, stricter moderation and a totally new image – good to rebrand the community this new year.

Until then.. I will be playing with Microsoft’s newest baby – Windows7! Or.. you may check out Nadai Nama latest media appearance at the Malay Mail.

Psstt.. see how Windows 7 looks like here.
