Our City Council announced plans to develop Jalan Yu Seng/Jalan Merpati into a tourist attraction. Part of it has been developed with canopy being erected near the traffic lights on the intersection of Jalan Yu Seng and Jalan Merbau. It is almost dead silent at 9pm along the Jalan Merpati stretch.
What left to be known is the status of the plan to develop further up the road towards Imperial Mall.
The inaugural Gong Festival went smoothly last night at the Imperial Ballroom in Miri. The event was officially declared by our Deputy Chief Minister of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr. George Chan and was hosted by Datuk Michael Manyin and his Tourism Ministry.
The Dayak Association Miri (DAM) was honoured to be part of this great event, and I coordinate our participation in my capacity as the Youth Chairman of DAM. I would like to thank Mdm. Jacqueline Selaka and her cultural team for their hard work to get the team ready for their performance, which include the Gendang Rayah and Tarian Ngajat Semain.
One for the album.. The participants together with YB Datuk Michael Manyin, YB Nelson Balang, and YBhg. Epoi Datan (Director of Sarawak Museum).
