Cheryl’s Day 1 of formal education

It was THE first day of Cheryl’s formal education yesterday. She will be using the English medium for the teaching of Mathematics and Science. The issue was widely discussed throughout Malaysia and even made its way to the Malaysian Cabinet.

Cheryl is enrolled with SK St. Columba in Miri. The primary school was opened in 1929 and is one of the oldest mission school in Sarawak. Despite its Sekolah Kebangsaan name, it is still a mission-funded school.

On the way to school! Started with classes in the afternoon at 12.30 pm.

Met new friends, McLaren Ludan anak Bada.

For the next three weeks, Cheryl will undergo the induction classes together with the rest of the other Year 1 students.
