Borneo Post

I must extend my thanks to the Education Ministry for getting the Iban Language as a subject in Sarawak schools next year. Its a dream come true to many educationist in Sarawak and a big achievement for those at Majlis Adat Istiadat.

Although I may not be going back to school, but I will be getting the text book for my own reference. LOL – back to school again for me (I guess)!!

News Extract (BP)

It is sad to read the news this morning on this incident. I suggest the various Iban organisation such as Persatuan Dayak Miri, SDNU Miri, SADIA Miri, and SIDS Miri come together and seek appropriate fund not only to get the land for a new cemetry but to paid caretakers for the cleanliness, services, security, etc. following the concept of Nirvana but on a smaller scale.

I know it is a difficult task to combine the four organisation, but the government should put the responsibility of managing the cemetries to one capable organisation.

With funding from the government and commercialising funeral among the Iban, I do not see why we cannot put a stop to this act by the tombraiders!

I look forward to the improvement of these 10,000 primary and secondary schools toilet. A good budget should be set aside to replace or build this toilets. And I plea to the government to set aside a higher maintenance budget for this toilets.

I have once, work on a tender for the cleaning of toilet for schools, and sadly, we didn’t get the tender at a price that includes good and high quality air refreshener, better cleaning detergent to wash, mob the toilet floor, etc.

I got to know that most school uses normal cheap detergent for washing clothes, and vim for the toilet bowl. Considering the number of students who uses this toilets daily, I don’t think that these detergent can perform the job to maintain the toilets.

So, Datuk Lau, not only we need good toilet, but we need better budget to maintain it!

Anyway, bravo for the toilets!

The Malaysian parliamentary election is coming soon. It could be in 2007, before Anwar Ibrahim gets his rights to stand in an election again.

Back home in Sarawak, we have Datuk Joseph Salang (Julau) and YB Jawah Gerang (Lubok Antu) still holding the partyless status. And, it sure will be a lot merrier with them in SPDP lead by Datuk William ;)

Well.. politics is full of surprises and I hope there will be a few surprises in the coming month.

Let us see what is up during SPDP’s TGM next month.
