Nothing better than to have tempoyak (preserved durian) and a bowl of warm rice for lunch or dinner.
Add some chillie, ikan bilis, onion and a little pepper.. fried it as seen above.. and slurrpppsssss.. the world is yours!

To the Iban family, the presence of “tanah tumboh” brings good luck and prosperity. The higher the deposit, the more luck is expected to fall upon the family of the place where the deposit is located.

This “tanah tumboh” is located at Dit, Debak in the Betong Division.
What do you think of this theory and phenomena?

Once again, at this time of the year, we are able to bring the Christmas cheers to our brothers and sisters in Sarawak.
Millions of Thank You to the crew onboard Acergy Piper, Norway, for being able to contribute their Safety Incentive Scheme award to our people in Sarawak.
It is indeed a pleasant sight to see the smiles on the faces of the occupants of the Cheshire Home.
We hope the next incentive would be contribute to the Sunflower Club of Miri under the management of Mdm. Liza Chai.
May God bless us all! Merry Christmas everyone!! Muahhhh…..

It seem that nothing have been done to address this issue despite the police report made on the last raid. I believe that a meeting was called and a commitee set up comprising a few tuai rumah (village chieftains) in the Miri Division.
Again, I urge the various Dayak bodies in Miri to set up a team and work together with the churches to have some fund rolling. By all mean, charge the family of the decease (say RM100-200 per annum) for looking after the graveyards. The fees can be use to engage security personnel as well as to pay for landscaping and cleanliness.
The government can assist by giving instant fund to get the team rolling. Now is the time for all the churches to sit down together and get some action done!

I must congratulate Tr. Richard and his JKKK who have successfully put their longhouse on the web at http://www.beguang.com!!
And, of course the credit should also go to Desmond Jerukan, who I think is behind the existence of the website. Yeahhh… menyadek, you are always there.
Nevertheless, I love to see more website of this nature on the web, since we are having more IT savvy occupants in the longhouse… even the kids knows internet nowadays!
Supplement to that, I hope to see a more transparent plans, targets and achievement on the implementation of wireless broadband to connect this longhouses to the world wide web. Once, I did hear of a project to implement wireless broadband in the Betong Division, but until today, nothing concrete on that. If it happen, I will be the first to go back to my longhouse to live, work and being connected at the same time.
