Let’s hope the weather will be on our side that particular Tuesday evening. I planned to take the kids to the Science Museum to have a better view (exclusive hill top view) and probably to take some photos.

The residents of Miri City are lucky to have a year of free wireless service provided by DeConnexion owned by Danawa Resources Sdn. Bhd. Danawa is the first and only Internet Service Provider in Sarawak to offer ubiquitous Wireless Internet connectivity in the resort city of Miri and later throughout Sarawak.
This tutorial on connecting to DeConneXion was done using Acer Aspire 5572 with preinstalled Intel Proset Wireless software. And, before you begin, please make sure that your wireless adapter is ‘on’ by switching the wireless button as shown below.

The reason why I use Intel Proset application is that it is better than Windows own wireless option. It is far worst if you are using Windows Vista! You need to authorise so many things before you get connected. With Windows XP, its just does its job behind the scene quietly.
While we are busy getting ready to celebrate Malaysia’s 50th National Day, which falls on 31st August, and this photo may be one of the most seen on the Internet, we should sit back and look at what we have achieve during the 50 years of stable government under the Barisan National.

A few years back, the role of our community leaders such as the Pemanca, Temenggung, Penghulu, Ketua Kampung, Tuai Rumah, etc. are mostly confine to settle communal conflicts like marriage problems, land issue, etc. Today, these community leaders are the most sought person during the school opening months of January and February because those are the months where parents need the leaders to verify their income, etc. for the school database.

I read this in the Star yesterday and straight away checked my kids mobile. John is using this battery and so far we didn’t face any overheating issue. However, not to compromise on safety, I visited the published URL and I was asked to check and verify if my son’s Nokia battery is affected by the overheating issues.
And, if you are interested to know if your battery is part of this product advisory, please follow the two steps below:
1) Switch off your mobile device and check the battery model. If your battery is not a BL-5C model, you are not included in this product advisory and your product will not be replaced.

2) If your battery is a BL-5C model, remove the battery and check the 26-character identification number from the back of the battery. Enter the identification number in the field below and you will be advised if your battery may be replaced.

I may need to go back and check on this. If yours fall under the faulty one, please go to http://www.nokia.com/batteryreplacement/en/ to submit your request for a replacement.
The affected Nokia mobile models are:
Nokia 1100, Nokia 1100c, Nokia 1101, Nokia 1108, Nokia 1110, Nokia 1112, Nokia 1255, Nokia 1315, Nokia 1600, Nokia 2112, Nokia 2118, Nokia 2255, Nokia 2272, Nokia 2275, Nokia 2300, Nokia 2300c, Nokia 2310, Nokia 2355, Nokia 2600, Nokia 2610, Nokia 2610b, Nokia 2626, Nokia 3100, Nokia 3105, Nokia 3120, Nokia 3125, Nokia 6030, Nokia 6085, Nokia 6086, Nokia 6108, Nokia 6175i, Nokia 6178i, Nokia 6230, Nokia 6230i, Nokia 6270, Nokia 6600, Nokia 6620, Nokia 6630, Nokia 6631, Nokia 6670, Nokia 6680, Nokia 6681, Nokia 6682, Nokia 6820, Nokia 6822, Nokia 7610, Nokia N70, Nokia N71, Nokia N72, Nokia N91, Nokia E50, Nokia E60
