Election after election, mayor after mayor, but this road leading to the Petroleum Musuem in Miri is still in its dark age.

With cheap natural gas to fuel up our power plant in Pujut, Miri is able to help Bintulu powered the whole Sarawak, and yet it can’t light up the road to its rich history of natural resources.

We are here to promote Miri as a resort city, a place tourist can visit to learn and understand the history of the petroleum industry in Malaysia, and we certainly need to put the Grand Old Lady a lighted path to places you should visit while in Miri.

To Petronas and Shell Malaysia, the initial million contributed to the museum is not forever. The City Council still needs you to help them maintain it. Look at the paint and the building itself – it sure need new coat and a ‘bath’.

The Grand Old Lady says, “Please light up my life!”

It is another case of abundant water supply. This time its in Sibu. Well, the DID engineers sure need to work hard on their plans to reduce excessive water from flooding Sibu roads.

Tuan Resident Sibu, with his previous experience with DID, we are sure he is capable to come up with a long term plan for Sibu. At least a 50-years plan..

Last Monday I planned to bring a couple of friends from Kuching to this place. We didn’t make it that evening for a simple reason that it might not have what we want – Green Label and Macallan. For that reason, we stick to SOHO and had our drinks and dinner there. Green Label (RM320) and the Macallan (RM360) at SOHO..ghee!

And, for that reason too, I decided to pay Tai Li a visit yesterday and here are the photos…

Review

The place do not have much variety of liquor or wine. But if you are into beer, then this place will be OK. As for food, they only have salad to offer yesterday (which I didn’t order). I was expecting something like french fries, fried ikan bilis, peanut to go with my beer.

The bottled beer was sold at RM10 each.. that’s the price we gotta pay for a good view and quiet place to chit chat.. Coke is sold at RM6 per can.

If you going for a diet date and just talking… then this is your paradise (away from Miri).

Safety

Please make sure you do not drink too much. I couldn’t see any life jacket around the vessel or along the plankwalk leading to the vessel.
